Read more→Enjoying Mediterranean cuisine by the sea with good friends — that was our plan for the first Sunday in April 2023. The sun was blazing, the beautiful beach of Paguera full of playing children.
Mar y Mar has a large terrace. Our table was right at the front, separated from the beach by just a low wall. Hard to beat that.
The tuna tataki was good, fresh and cleanly prepared. The fish and chips, however, disappointed — both the chips and cod had spent far too long in the fryer.
Service couldn't keep up. Longer waits had to be accepted — frustrating at this price point.
The location is top-notch, no question. Kids can play on the beach while you eat in peace. But the service needs to hold itself to the same high standards it expects from guests. And the kitchen could step it up a notch.
