Periplo Portixol
New star on Portixol's dining scene: Periplo impresses with glazed aubergine, outstanding sole and attentive service. Pricey but worth every euro — book soon!
Read more→Ola del Mar in Portixol is one of the harbour's most reliable addresses. Since Guillermo Cabot took over — previously maître at Caballito de Mar — the kitchen quality has been consistently excellent.
Gorgeous first-line location with breathtaking Mediterranean views. Two outdoor terraces invite you to linger. The interior is sleek and maritime.
The menu focuses on fresh fish, seafood, rice and pasta dishes. My favourite: Calamar fresco salteado con sobrasada y salsa teriyaki — an unusual but fantastic combination. The tuna tataki is equally superb.
The classic paellas deliver, especially the ciega version. For dessert: white chocolate soup with caramel ice cream and nuts — a worthy finale.
Service is professional and warm. Ola del Mar is the perfect choice for a special occasion by the sea.
