Ola del Mar Portixol
Reliably excellent seafood on Portixol's first line. The calamari with sobrasada and teriyaki is a signature dish — perfect for special occasions by the sea.
Read more→Wow! I was blown away when I dropped in for a spontaneous lunch at Portixol's new restaurant. It's called Periplo — and it has all the makings of a new favourite.
Previously home to Tapas Club, everything was transformed. Rumour had it one of Mallorca's best caterers was launching his restaurant project here. The rumours didn't exaggerate.
Service was exceptionally warm and attentive. The glazed aubergine with parmesan cream was a beautiful counterpoint — hearty yet elegant.
The sole as main course was outstanding! A noticeably higher level than the usual first-line fare. The garlic perfectly seared, the flavour combinations spot on.
The grilled vegetables also impressed: wild fennel, carrots, aubergines — all prepared with care.
Over 100 euros for two. Steep, but entirely justified. Try it — soon you won't get in without a reservation.
